Kayaking on Mendenhall Lake to the Glacier

We paddled an hour each way to the freshwater glacier at Mendenhall Lake, which is just up the road from Uncle Mark and Aunt Carol's home. It was a bit chilly, but we paddled hard and also walked around the glacier and ice caves upon arrival. Beautiful clear skies and no wind on our return paddle back.  The kids will sleep well tonight!

Sharolyn enjoyed a run up the road behind the house and some views of the lush rain forest. Then we helped make a delicious salmon dinner and enjoyed chocolate cherry cake. Our hosts are the best!

Mark is a master gardener!

Our kayaking adventure. The kids were awesome!  And Aunt Carol helped us navigate!

Lunch/snacks at the glacier. Exploring and getting warm and dry.

And for good measure...  How I love plants and flowers!
